As Engine Rescue 17 and Engine Tanker 17 were responding, County 911 confirmed the presence of a working structure fire.

Upon arrival at the scene, crew members from Company 17 initiated an aggressive interior attack using two 1¾-inch hand lines from Engine Tanker 18. While they advanced on Division One, they were informed that heavy fire was spreading from the second division directly above them. The structure in question was a double-planked house, which allowed the fire to spread through the walls and reach the second floor and attic.

As the members from station 17 attempted to access the second division, members from the Hope Fire Company arrived and assisted with the interior attack.

Firefighters from multiple companies successfully extinguished the fire but remained on scene for multiple hours for extensive overhaul.
